Join us for a momentous occasion as Union Adventist University proudly inaugurates our new president, Dr. Yami Bazan. This significant event, themed “Heritage of Faithfulness,” will celebrate the legacy of dedication and commitment that has shaped our institution for more than 133 years.
Dr. Bazan, a leader with a profound dedication to education and spiritual growth, will be officially welcomed into her role as we reflect on the rich heritage that guides Union's mission and vision. The inauguration ceremony will feature a procession of delegates from our local and national community, inspiring messages, musical performances, and a special address from Dr. Edwin Hernandez, setting the tone for a new chapter in our university’s journey.

Join us for a special recital in honor of Dr. Yami Bazan. Renowned pianist Dr. Elvin Rodriguez and several family members will be performing a short concert followed by a light reception in the main lobby of Engel Hall. No reservation required. Free and open to the public.
George Gibson Lecture | Nov. 14, 7 p.m.

Guest lecture by Dr. Sigve Tonstad from Loma Linda University: "Cain, Abel, and the Destruction of Gaza." No reservation required. Free and open to the public.

Where will the event take place?
The inauguration ceremony and most other events will take place in the College View Seventh-day Adventist Church at 4801 Prescott Avenue, Lincoln, Nebraska.
Is there a dress-code for the Installment Ceremony?
Attendees are encouraged to wear business or dressy casual attire, with school colors being a popular choice. Academic regalia is required for those participating in the procession.
Where can I park when I attend?
Parking is available at the College View Church, along the streets surrounding the church, as well as several areas of Union Adventist University's campus.
Are there hotel accommodations available?
We have limited rooms reserved at the Hampton Inn, located just 2 miles from campus. Mention "Union Adventist University's Inauguration Ceremony" when you book.
Will the event be live streamed?
Yes. You can watch the installment ceremony and dedication service on the Union Live Channel (YouTube).
Who are the speakers and special guests?
The guest speaker will be Dr. Edwin Hernández, president of Universidad de las Antillas in Puerto Rico. Other distinguished guests will include city officials and representatives from several sister universities, as well as representatives from the Seventh-day Adventist church leadership. Dr. Sigve Tonstad, PhD, MD will also present a lecture series over the weekend.
Will there be a reception after the event?
A Celebration Luncheon will follow the installment ceremony. However, reservations are required, and the event is by invitation only.
